The Chairman of the Nadroga Navosa Provincial Council, Ratu Sakiusa Makutu has called on landowners in the Province to give their idle land to the Government, in order to earn some form of revenue.

The Kalevu while addressing the council meeting yesterday stressed to landowners that the Government of the day is not out to own their land, and they should trust that the Government will manage their land properly and in return they will be able to earn some revenue.

Meanwhile the Kalevu also called on the people of Nadroga Navosa have been urged to control and cut down the consumption of kava in villages.

The Kalevu stressed to the chiefs that word must be passed down to the villagers that kava is to be consumed no later than 11pm, as he has noticed that people tend to use up a lot of their time in drinking kava.

Ratu Makutu said this must stop as more time can be spent on other things.

The second day of the meeting continues today at Tale-navuru-vuru meeting House at 10am in Sigatoka.
