The Native Land Trust Board has had to rebuild its database on land ownership in the country and rent payments in preparation for the new IT system.
However, when questioned by Fijivillage on whether this data was lost through the previous IT system MYsap, NLTB general manager Alipate Qetaki said they would rather not comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, Qetaki also confirmed that the errors in rent payments to landowners, which used to occur in the past, is expected to be eliminated with the NLTB's new IT system coming online by the end of August.
Qetaki added all landowners would be urged to open bank accounts so that their rent money can be directly sent to their bank accounts.
The new system replaces the $16million MySap IT system which was found to have problems and was removed last year.
