The current land problems, which have become a major national issue in the country, can be easily solved if other races living in the country know and understand the Fijian language better to be able to communicate well with the indigenous community.

Those are the views of Ratu Tevita Momoedonu, who believes that while the People's Charter provides an avenue for all races to come together and work towards a common goal for the interest of the nation, it does not give a quick solution to the current land problems.

The Taukei Sawaieke said there were certain aspects of the land valued by the Fijian people that other races do not understand because of the language problem.
