A piece of State land has been identified to be developed as a
“Housing Village" near Nausori to temporary resettle squatters.
Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer, Alipate Naiorosui
revealed that the remaining Kilikali settlers are earmarked for relocation to the Urban Housing Village at Sasawira, 10 miles.
The Authority has already provided lots for 65 families at its Waila 3B subdivision while 45 others are waiting for their
approval.
He adds that they have called for tenders and hopes that it is awarded at the end of this month.
He adds that the Authority is working closely with the Squatter Resettlement Unit of the Housing Ministry and funds for developing the land will be given by the ministry.
The construction work is expected to be completed within two months.
