The Police Strike Back team, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers and the Drug and Dog Unit raided two shops early yesterday morning after receiving complaints that shop owners were selling dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Deputy Director CID, Superintendent of Police (SP) Adi Sen, confirmed the two raids were conducted in a shop at Veisari, Lami, and a shop in Nakasi.

SP Sen said the officers confiscated the dried leaves and the money, however, the value is still not known.

The shop owners have been questioned and released while the dried leaves have been sent to the Koronivia Research Station for testing.

Police are expected to lay charges after the government analysis report.
