Residents of Qauia, Waivote, Waimate and Naimawi Street in Lami are trying their best to curb the increase in robbery, house breaking and larceny during the last few months and as a result this morning they launched a Crime Prevention project.

Lami Resident, Culden Kamea said the project is for all the residents in these areas and the rural communities such as Naivikinikini, to assist police in decreasing crime.

Kamea said a total number of 90 houses in these areas have signed up to support the project and one of the main intiatives is to support the youth in the community.
