The recent Lami festival will see the community benefit through improved park and sporting facilities as it generated close to $5000.
Organizing committee member Culden Kamea said for a small community which has not held a festival for six years, they had good results and it also uplifted the spirits of people living in Lami.
Kamea added that they assisted various groups in Lami with free stalls for their fund-raising.
Kamea said they are holding continuous discussions with Suva City's Special Administrator Chandu Umaria on rehabilitation of the old Lami rubbish dump site that it will be able to accommodate sports and recreational activities for the Lami community as well as for the greater Suva area.
