Lami Residents Make Plea To Police
Many break-ins have occurred in the past few weeks in Vatuvia Road, Naimawi Street and Qeleya Street in Lami.
The latest targets were a businessman and a lecturer who were robbed in the last few days and some of the stolen items were later found in a shop in the capital city.
A lecturer at the University of the South Pacific Kenneth Chambers said his family has been robbed twice and he suspects the same group of people is involved.
Chambers, whose personal laptop contained very important files, was stolen and later found in a shop in Suva.
Chambers said he had to buy his computer again for $900.
Chambers has raised concern that just because of the market for stolen items, the number of robberies are increasing day by day.
Another resident Cherie Oyagawa Smith whose family home was also targeted has called on police to do constant patrolling and be on time to attend to reports from robbery victims.
Director Operations SSP Waisea Tabakau is expected to comment later today.
