The Lami Town Mayor said ratepayers in Lami owe up to a million dollars in rates which is hindering various projects.
When asked on why the Lami Town Council is unable to carry out regular repair works of its roads, Tevita Vuatalevu revealed they are facing financial constraints.
He said some ratepayers still owe rates going back 10 years.
