Blues Super Rugby coach Pat Lam says he is not considering stepping down despite widespread criticism of his team who have again failed to live up to expectation.

On paper the Blues have the talent to be contesting the top spot in the New Zealand Super Rugby conference.

The Blues currently lies in the 14th place on overall points standing.

Out of six Super Rugby matches so far this season the Blues have won one match   and surprisingly that victory was against the Bulls in Pretoria which is famous for being one of the toughest places for away team to win matches.

The Blues now face the huge task of having to win almost all of their remaining ten matches if they are to stand a chance of reaching the play offs.

Blues lost to the Rebels 34-23 in Melbourne last week where the Blues showed a “lack of fight”.

Coach Lam said that he is just focusing on reviving the Blues’ struggling Super Rugby season starting with this weekend’s match against the Sharks in Auckland.

Blues will face the Sharks at 7:35pm while the Force will tackle the Waratahs at 11:10pm on Friday.
