The Interim Minister for Social Welfare has today revealed that they will only be assisting the families of the laid-off miners at Vatukoula who are currently on the Family Assistance scheme.
Responding to questions on whether the assistance will continue, Interim Minister, Adi Laufitu Malani said they are currently monitoring the situation in Vatukoula.
This follows reports that the laid off workers have been told to vacate their quarters.
