Ministry of Labour officials are expected to meet with the management of Taunovo Bay Resort at 3pm today to sort out issues of pending pay for their workers.
A Ministry of Labour official confirmed that the workers are no longer on strike, but are still not reporting to work, but they have been reassured that their grievances will be solved as soon as possible.
A Taunovo Bay Resort worker told Fijivillage that workers who were paid on an hourly basis last received their pay on November 15th while those who were paid on a fortnightly basis were last paid in December.
More than 60 workers walked off their jobs on Friday to show their disagreement on the issue and efforts to get information from Resort management proved futile as all their lines are disconnected.
