The Nasinu Town Council and other stakeholders will be holding a special programme to reduce the unemployment rate in the area.

Town clerk, Satish Kumar said a labour exchange scheme will be introduced in Nasinu to create employment and at the same time fulfill demands for labour in various categories of workplaces.

Kumar said due to the large population of Nasinu, many problems are linked to it.

According to Kumar, this programme will be on trial for a year and then a review will be done.

A memorandum of understanding will be signed in the next hour between Nasinu Town Council, the Fiji Institute of Applied Studies and the Community Welfare Society.
