Police have arrested a 48 year old man from Labasa who is alleged to have raped his defacto wife last week on Friday.
The man was taken into custody on Monday and is currently being questioned.
According to police, the man was living with his wife and the victim in the same house.
It is alleged the man raped his defacto wife after they had an argument during a drinking party at their home.
Police are also waiting for the victim's medical report from the doctors after which the man is expected to be charged.
