A 53 year old farmer who was involved in an accident in Qelemumu Labasa was today released on a $3,000 bail by the Labasa Magistrates court.
Chandrika Prasad who is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle with an expired license and contravening the third party policy appeared in the Labasa Magistrate Court this afternoon.
He has been ordered to report to the Labasa Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and not to re-offend while on bail.
Prasad allegedly lost control of his vehicle which went down a cliff, instantly killing a 38 year old woman while two other women who sustained injuries were treated and sent home.
No plea was taken and the matter has been adjourned to 27th October.
