Labasa has broken a 16 year long jinx in the Vodafone Fiji FACT after beating Rewa 2-nil in the final yesterday.

Ravinesh Karan Singh scored the first goal for the Babasiga Lions in the first half.

Labasa started the second half strongly and kept putting pressure on Rewa.

They were rewarded as Taione Kerevanua scored the second goal late in the second half.

Labasa controlled much of the game despite Rewa trying to get back into the match.

Winning coach Bal Sanju Reddy said his players were consistent throughout the entire final.

Labasa captain Taniela Waqa dedicated the win to all the mothers in Vanua Levu.

Waqa also won the Player of the Tournament award while Labasa goalkeeper Akuila Mataisuva won the Best Goalkeeper Award. 

The side also won $15,000 in prize money.

Labasa beat Lautoka 3‑2 in the first semifinal while Rewa beat Ba 3-2 in the second semifinal.

Peni Finau of Lautoka won the Golden Boot Award after scoring five goals in the tournament.
