Labasa can become the booming capital of the North.

With the completion of the new wing at the Labasa Hospital and the plans underway to open up the Malau Wharf to be a Port of entry, the Labasa Chamber of Commerce are confident that more jobs will spring up in the struggling town.

Chamber Vice President, Yogesh Kapadia said these two plans have seen big retail outlets like Tappoos open up a branch in Labasa and this is a stepping stone for them.

Kapadia had also mentioned that the Chamber would be looking into assisting in the development of other means of income for many were reliant on the Sugar Industry.

The new $3 million dollar new Labasa Wing was opened up early this year.
