The feature match of day one of the Vodafone Fiji FACT lived up to expectations as Labasa defeated Rewa 1-0 at Ratu Cakobau Park.
It was the fastest goal of the day when Labasa’s Krishneel Krishna scored in the second minute of the match with a well-timed free-kick with Rewa goal keeper shocked seeing the ball at the back of the net.
Both teams played constructive soccer and this match proved to be the best game of the day.
In earlier matches Nadi managed to beat Navua 1-0 with Samuela Drudru scoring for the westerners.
Nadroga proved to be the dark horse of the tournament when they upset Ba 1-0 with a 15th minute goal through Mohammed Taslim.
In the other match Suva defeated Lautoka 3-0.
The Whites lead their pool followed by Nadi while Labasa and Nadroga lead the other pool with three points each.
