The Labasa Town Council said they will be carrying out various projects to improve facilities and infrastructure in the next couple of months.
Labasa Mayor Shivlal Nagindas said the council expects to collect huge rates in the first quarter of the year whereby they will be in a position to fix roads and drains as well as upgrading the footpaths in town.
Nagindas said the council is aware of the need to fix the deteriorating road conditions with the continuous rainfall as it is taking its toll on the roads.
