President of the Labasa Chamber of Commerce Satish Kumar has assured the Prime Minister that they will work together with his government for the development of Labasa.
While congratulating Bainimarama on FijiFirst’s victory, Kumar said that nothing is impossible with Bainimarama’s government as for the last 8 years, his government has done what no other government has done.
He gave examples like constructing the Nabouwalu Highway, providing tuition free education for children and introducing the free bus fare program.
Kumar also said that even without getting support from our neighboring countries, our economic growth was 3.8% which is huge.
He asked the Prime Minister to focus more on the Agriculture Sector as Labasa depends more on it.
He also highlighted that the Waiqele Airport is in need of an upgrade.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said the Labasa economy died a few years back.
He said they then introduced the Look North Policy.
Bainimarama said they are also looking at developing Waiqele Airport, and other roads and infrastructure in the North.
Bainimarama also said that the economic growth of 3.8% has increased to 4.8%.
