The 6,000 plus crowd was at the edge of their seats throughout the Labasa against Ba match which ended one-all in the Courts IDC at Churchill Park.

Both teams displayed one touch soccer and entertained the spectators with their spectacular skills.

Labasa defender Kavaia Rawaqa scored an own goal in the 15th minute of first half when he tried to clear the ball which ended into their own net.

The Northerners applied continuous pressure straight after the goal and managed to get a penalty two minutes later as Pita Bolatoga did not make any mistake.

Bolatoga after the match said this is a very young squad and they will try their very best.

Both teams tried hard to score with the opportunities they managed to create but could not find the back of the net.

In the last game of the day yesterday, hosts Lautoka could not score from the golden opportunities they had throughout the game as the match ended nil-all.

Lautoka’s Jean Kaltak missed a penalty in the final minutes of the first half after Nelson Oladji was brought down by goalkeeper Epeli Loaniceva.

Loaniceva became the hero after he saved the penalty together with other galand saves made throughout the match.
