The Land Transport Authority (LTA) employee charged with causing death by dangerous driving will appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police Traffic Director SSP Mahesh Mishra said the man has been charged with causing the death of a man who received serious injuries during an accident on the highway of Bua 3 weeks ago.
According to Mishra the man has been charged and will be produced in court on Monday.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni has called on his officers to treat drivers who will be caught drink driving with a lot of respect in this festive season.
Teleni said that it is important for his officers to carry out their work in accordance with what is in their strategy although some of the drivers may be drunk.
Teleni also called on key stakeholders like the National Road Safety Council and the LTA to assist them in trying to have a accident free festive season.
