In an effort to ensure road safety among young road users, the Land Transport Authority is visiting schools around the country.
General manager Timoci Satakala said this year they are looking at visiting 300 schools in the urban and rural areas, and raising awareness on road user safety behaviour that students need to adopt.
Satakala said that it is also the responsibility of parents to advise their children about basic road safety and to ensure that their children avoid crossing anyhow and playing along the roads.
Recently, police had raised concerns on the number of children involved in road accidents.
