We will clamp down on taxis which do not have their meters calibrated as our teams are now out on the roads.
These are the words of Land Transport Authority Regional Manager Central Eastern, Uday Singh who said they have stopped urging taxi operators to bring their cars to the Authority for sealing, as all taxi drivers know they should have gotten it adjusted by last week Saturday.
Singh said they have so far sealed more than 2,000 metres out of close to 5,000 taxis.
LTA Chief Executive Etuate Koroi earlier said the public should also help and should immediately get off a taxi whose metre has not been adjusted, note the registration number and report it to the LTA.
