The Land Transport Authority together with the Commissioner Western Office and Turaga ni Koro around the Western region have set up Road Marshall Clubs in the West.

Authority spokesperson Vera Wedlock said LTA held a two day workshop last week where 80 participants attended with at least 20 members comprising of village headmen.

Wedlock said since the introduction of Road Marshall Clubs in the Central division, there has seen a lot of improvement of road behavior amongst the public, for both pedestrians and drivers and this is why they have extended to the western division.

She added that these road marshals will be informing the pedestrians about the need to use proper crossing facilities, informing people about jaywalking and creating the necessary awareness in the community.
