In an effort to promote and maintain safety on our roads, the Land Transport Authority would be conducting free clinics for Public Service Vehicle drivers in the Western and Central Eastern division.

LTA General Manager Road Safety Timoci Satakala said one of the major components of safety on the road is the driver however it is important that drivers are continuously reminded of their responsibilities in terms of safety.

Satakala said in view of the current high fatality rate of accidents on the road compared to last year, the Authority will be focusing more on driver education.

He added their objective is to raise awareness on safer driving behavior and discourage unsafe road user behavior and attitude. There is also a great need to caution PSV drivers on the dangers of speed and drink driving.

The drivers will also be briefed on bus fare and bus stage issues.
These clinics will be held tomorrow in Ba, Rakiraki and Tavua however further clinics will be conducted in Nadi, Sigatoka and Lautoka.
