We need your help to be able to address the issue of taxi drivers or bus drivers not following LTA road rules.
The lack of man power in the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has resulted in their calling on the public for assistance when it comes to breaches of operation laws by public service vehicles.
LTA Spokesperson Ratu Eroni Volavola said for Viti Levu alone, which deals with 5 provinces there are only 22 senior officers dealing with the thousands of taxis on our roads.
Volavola said what will happen is once they receive a complaint from the public, they will then cross check with their data and decide on the fine to be put on the driver.
Meanwhile, Volavola had earlier revealed, the authority would be handing out letters to all PSV drivers informing them on the laws of the road and taxi conditions.
He added this will leave no room of excuse for drivers when they are caught breaking the law.
