The Land Transport Authority has booked and impounded more than 4,500 vehicles during its traffic operation with police.

LTA Media Liaison Officer Doreen Narayan said that out of the 321 vehicles impounded, 199 vehicles have been returned to its owners.

She said so far 19 vehicles have been de registered, 3,359 drivers booked and 744 given defect order.

She said 89 drivers have been issued with final warning while 39 drivers have had their licenses suspended and four had it cancelled.

She said that most of the drivers booked are from the Central/Eastern Division.
