The Land Transport Authority is awaiting a submission from the Turaga ni Koro in Nausori to provide them with the number of students travelling to and fro daily in buses and mini buses.

The Acting Regional Manager Central/Eastern Ratu Eroni Volavola while answering questions on a talkback show on our sister station Radio Sargam on why there are less buses and more illegal minivans providing services in the area, agreed that there are more than a thousand illegal mini buses on Fiji roads.

Ratu Eroni said that these drivers are chased and impounded however they are back on the road as people are giving them business.

He said they need to know how many students travel to Nausori town or Suva from Baulevu and nearby areas to find a solution to the problem.
