The Land Transport Authority has impounded seven taxis in Sigatoka after allegations that they were operating under forged taxi permits.
Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary Rishi Ram said the taxis operating from Sigatoka town were impounded by LTA yesterday afternoon.
The matter has also been referred to police for further investigations after allegations that an officer from LTA was involved in giving away the forged permits.
The Land Transport Authority Chief Executive and the Police are expected to comment later today.
