Bus drivers have an important responsibility to ensure that the passengers are safe.
That is the message from Land Transport Authority's General Manager Road Safety, Timoci Satakala in relation to recent bus accidents.
Satakala said that the lives of passengers are in the hands of the bus drivers and it is critical they ensure that they drive safely by following simple road rules.
He added that bus drivers have been trusted with this important responsibility as they have been issued a license.
Meanwhile, two people are in serious condition after the bus they were travelling in veered of the road in Savusavu and tumbled down a slope yesterday.
Police are questioning the driver.
