The Land Transport Authority has endorsed a number of measures which will see immediate actions being taken to improve the safety in buses operations around the country.

Transport Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete confirmed to Fijivillage that these measures include the setting up a criteria for hiring bus drivers and monitoring the hours they are assigned to drive.

The Bus Operations Association meets tomorrow to discuss these issues before making a statement.
