Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary is claiming that Land Transport Authority is creating its own law and are penalising taxi drivers who do not have fire extinguishers .
According to Rishi Ram fire extinguishers is only compulsory for buses.
Ram has also claimed that 25 taxi drivers and have been booked so far for not having fire extinguishers.
Meanwhile, Land Transport Authority Chief Executive Officer Etuate Koroi told Fijivillage News that the orders given to the taxis has been cancelled as there are no laws for fire extinguishers in taxi.
However he adds that fire extinguishers may come in handy.
