The bus conditions are not the fault of the Land Transport Authority.
This is after the Authority revealed yesterday that a probable reason for the accident in Malaqereqere Sigatoka, which claimed the lives of twelve people, was due to an electrical fault.
Chief Executive, Etuate Koroi said the Authority cannot be blamed for not thoroughly carrying out the inspections of the buses, because the only reason the buses are allowed on the roads in the first place is due to the fact that they have passed all the necessary tests.
Koroi stresses that there is no lifespan for buses but much depends on the mileage and the years served, and so no matter how old the bus is, it can still be used.
Koroi also stressed that they will not play the blame game to say who is responsible for the fault in the bus as they continue certain internal investigations.
