The Land Transport Authority Chief Executive Officer, Etuate Koroi is currently meeting with the Permanent Secretary for the Transport Ministry.

The meeting is taking place to discuss the confusion surrounding the recent taxi fare increase.

Transport Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Anand Kumar had yesterday confirmed that the current taxi fare increase of 33% still remains.

According to LTA CEO, Etuate Koroi, the 33% increase in taxi fare is equivelent to the 50 cents increase in the flag fall rate.

The General Secretary of Fiji Taxi Union, Rishi Ram had earlier said that they will stick to the 33% increase and do not want only the 50 cents increase in the flag fall rate which they had earlier welcomed.
