The Board and Management of the Land Transport Authority have this afternoon announced the appointment of Naisa Tuinaceva, the current General Manager Operations as the CHIEF EXECUTIVE of the LTA.

LTA Executive chairman, Greg Lawlor in a statement confirms the Board at its meeting held on the Friday 17th of September 2010, endorsed the appointment of Tuinaceva.

Lawlor stated amongst many tasks he will be responsible for the introduction of Automated Red Light and Speed Cameras, the Demerit Point System for Drivers Licenses and Cut Off Dates for PSV Vehicles.

While accepting his appointment, Tuinaceva said being appointed to the helm of the LTA is an honor, a challenge and a wonderful opportunity and he intends to do his utmost to lead change in LTA.

Tuinaceva said the Authority will maintain its zero tolerance position on corruption and their fight over the matter will be more aggressive.

Meanwhile, LTA has reached a new level in its history and existence after the successful and official merger with National Road Safety Council.

This was the result of an earlier Cabinet decision.

The merger of the National Road Safety Council with the Land Transport Authority has been facilitated by merging the Functions and Funds of both organizations, hence the name, NRSC is now officially dissolved, and no longer exists.
