Boxer Joseph Kwadjo who won the hearts of many Fijians left the country yesterday after his work permit expired.
The Boxing Commission of Fiji Director, Malakai Veisamasama says it’s a sad loss for them as Kwadjo applied for his work permit to be renewed, however it was unsuccessful.
He adds the Commission has no idea at this stage what the decision was based on however they respect the decision of the Immigration Department.
Veisamasama says Kwadjo will now be based in Ghana as a professional boxer.
Kwadjo was in Fiji for over five years.
Director Immigration, Nemani Vuniwaqa could not be reached for comments.
