Waitakere United soccer team striker, Roy Krishna has been nominated for the FASANOC and Fiji Sports Council awards next month.

Krishna is now a regular for the New Zealand club scoring 25 goals from 45 appearances for Waitakere United since 2008.

Krishna also had a big hand in Labasa soccer's sweet Courts IDC victory last year after a long 17 years.

Meanwhile, shooter Glen Kable is one of the favorites for the award.

Kable won 3 gold medals in the Pacific Games last year and qualified for the London Olympic Games following a superb performance in the 2011 Oceania Shooting Championships in Australia in December.

He won gold in the championships at the Sydney International Shooting Centre and qualified for Fiji for an Olympic quota place.

Looking at other sports, the Fiji Athletics Association has nominated Leslie Copeland for the prestigious award.

Although 2011 was the year when Copeland qualified for the London Olympics, it was also a year when he was suspended for his drunk and disorderly behavior during the Pacific Games.

It was earlier highlighted that Copeland got into a scuffle with athletes from other countries in New Caledonia.
