Fiji soccer team striker Roy Krishna has failed to win the New Zealand Football Player of the Year award.

Krishna was nominated for the award after his fine performance this season for the Waitakere United side.

He was also nominated for the Oceania Player of the Year award.

All White striker Shane Smeltz has been named New Zealand Football's Player of the Year in Auckland last night.

Smeltz has also picked up the Oceania Player of the Year award.
