Fiji soccer golden boy Roy Krishna made his mark in the Pacific Games today scoring a hat trick in the 9-nil win against Kiribati.

The NZ based striker opened Fiji’s scoring in the first half from the penalty spot before adding another two in the second half.

Also in the scoring sheet with two goals were Maciu Dunadamu and Alvin Singh while Avinesh Swamy and Alvin Avinesh scored a goal each.

In Cricket, the Fiji team beat Vanuatu by 4 runs to ensure a spot in the gold medal playoff against Papua New Guinea on Friday.

Fiji scored 113 runs while Vanuatu only managed 109 runs.

Fiji will face PNG tomorrow ahead of their gold medal encounter.

Defending Pacific Games Champion New Caledonia is in the lead in the overall medal tally with Day 3 of competition with 5 gold and 1 silver after they dominated the swimming competition last night.

Tahiti is in second place with 4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze while PNG lies on 3rd spot with 3 gold and 1 silver.

Team Fiji is on 4th spot with 3 bronze, two from swimming and 1 from outrigger canoeing.
