Interim Transport Minister, Manu Korovulavula has defended Public Works Department's decision to purchase twenty nine new four wheel drive vehicles from Nivis Motors.
He said proper procedures were followed before purchasing new vehicles as a tender was called from the major tenders board and approval was also given by the Finance Ministry.
Korovulavula stresses that this has also saved over 3 million tax dollars as they will no longer hire vehicles.
The interim government has spent over $1.7 million to buy these vehicles.
