Melbourne Storm winger Marika Koroibete has had stitching and plastic surgery on his foot and is far from certain to play in Saturday night’s preliminary final.
The Storm’s leading try scorer this season has not trained since suffering an injury in Melbourne’s qualifying final win against the Roosters in Sydney.
The gash from a stray boot stud was so deep the Fijian flyer required inside and outside stitching, plus some plastic surgery and internal glue, to seal it up and reduce the risk of infection.
The Storm will face the Cowboys at 9.30pm Saturday.
