Interim Minister for Commerce, Taito Waradi has revealed that Korea and Dubai will soon have some trade deals arranged with Fiji which would benefit our country.

Waradi reveals that Korea has expressed keen interest to import sugar from Fiji and there is also a high demand for fish and fish products in Korea.

Waradi said Dubai has also offered to employ skilled workers from Fiji which presents an opportunity for Fiji to send workers to Dubai.

Meanwhile World Class airlines, Emirates have also indicated their interest on the possibility of flying to Fiji once or twice a week on their stops to Australia and New Zealand. They will be exploring the possibilities of forming an air service agreement with the interim government.

Waradi said Fiji has no business or trade links with the Middle East and therefore a Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to facilitate this necessity.

These developments follow the trade mission visit to South East Asia and Dubai.
