It was an emotional and unsurprising win for Osea Kolinisau's father when the Fiji Men's 7s team scooped the gold medal in the Olympic 7s final last Friday.

Kolinisau's mother, Eta Kolinisau shared an interesting story to Fijivillage after we asked her how they felt about Osea and the team winning gold.

Eta says that when the Fiji 7s men's team left for Rio, Osea's father had a dream that Fiji will beat Great Britain in the final.

She says that when Osea's father told the family about his dream, they did not believe him until the Fiji Men's 7s team defeated Great Britain.

Osea's father used to take on the duty of praying with the players every morning and afternoon before the Rio Olympics.

Eta adds that they are very proud of what the team has achieved and all their hard work has definitely paid off.

When Fijivillage asked Eta whether there will be wedding bells ringing soon for Osea, Eta says that Osea has put that on hold as he wants to travel the world.

Meanwhile the Kolinisau family will host a feast for Osea when Team Fiji returns on Sunday.

The Fiji team will touch down in Nadi at midday Sunday.

Celebration plans for the special public holiday on Monday, are currently underway.
