Osea Kolinisau and Lepani Botia are front runners to get the captain's role for the Digicel Fiji 7's team for the Gold Coast 7's.
Kolinisau is the lone survivor from the Fiji 7's team that won the Gold Coast tournament last year and has been part of the team for some time now.
Botia too has been taking charge in the training runs and could be named as the co-captain today.
The team will be named today with five players also expected to be named in the team for the first time.
They are Nadroga reps Apisai Domolailai, Apisalome Waqatabu, Samisoni Viriviri, Ulaiasi Lawavou and Suva's Leone Tabuarua.
The Gold Coast 7's kicks off next Saturday with Fiji playing Scotland at 2.42pm in its first pool match. Fiji will play Tonga at 5.58pm and will then play Australia at 9.46pm.
