The New World Suva Netball Association will open its 2010 season with a knockout championship to be held this week.

The association will incorporate a family fun day into the knockout championship with activities planned for children such as face painting, tug-of-war and goal shooting competitions.

So far a total of 20 clubs have registered in the competition which will run for 3 to 4 months in order to give ample time for trials and training for the inter-district championships and other national competitions.

The knockout championship silverware has changed hands over the last 4 years with CBM winning in 2006, USP in 2007, Lomaiviti in 2008 and CBM again in 2009.

Current knockout champions in the open grade CBM have since stepped up their training in order to successfully defend the title.

The knockout championship will be held on Saturday 17th April at the Vodafone arena.
