The York City Knights have said that they are disappointed their friendly game against Fiji, scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled.

The Knights believe Fiji was offered a "substantial appearance fee" to play at Barrow instead. Knights manager Ian Wilson said that the club feels used as Fiji has got a better offer from someone else.

However, Chairman of the Fiji National Rugby League, Peni Musunamasi said that the FNRL had nothing to do with the Touring Fijians.

Musunamasi stresses that the team was an Australian Based Fijian team and not the Fiji Bati side. He also added the Fijian team referred to was comprised of players played at the Rugby League World Cup such as James Storer and Sevainaia Koroi.

The game was supposed to take place this Sunday.
