New Zealand will use the defensive system of the NRL premiership winning Roosters in the hope of defending the Rugby League World Cup.

Six new faces are in the side for Saturday’s second game against France, with three Roosters in the lineup.

Halfback Shaun Johnson said defense is the main area that they are focusing on in training.

The Roosters conceded the least points in the NRL season, and Johnson said it can obviously work if they do it properly.

New Zealand meets France this Saturday at 8pm.

Meanwhile, Jarryd Hayne has been named on the wing for Australia to face the Vodafone Fiji Bati at 9am this Sunday.
