After fleeing their home island in 1947 for a better life, descendents from the first Tuvalu settlers in Fiji are finally finding a smooth transition to life in Fiji.

Located on a small island near Taveuni, Kioa islanders have started their own copra production which has seen them able to start building their homes and small scale farms.

Island Council spokesman David Taulia said last year, they received a loan from FDB and from government and this has helped change their lives.
