SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai said he was not arrested by police on Thursday.
He said he was invited by police for informal discussions but refused to give details on what was discussed.
Kinivuwai refused to give the identity of the senior officer with whom he met but said he would comment later on the matter when the time was right.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama earlier this week said he has directed the police to investigate some politicians who have been making inciteful comments.
